PREVIOUS EPISODE

Looked a lot like an episode of The Mandalorian. Part of that was due to the visuals, with the vast empty Lamentis-1 (albeit purple), the deserted mining town, and acres of loose gravel, similar to the landscapes we see regularly in the Star Wars series getting closer to them. western roots of the franchise. There’s also the matter of the guards we see checking tickets for the escape ship on Lamentis-1, which is essentially the Marvel version of Stormtroopers. And then there is the configuration of Loki Episode 3 – Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) trying to escape a dire situation – which can repeat itself over and over again should Loki end up being an ongoing series.

SUICIDE SQUAD MOVIE TRAILER REVIEW

Loki episode 3 then jumps to the right where we left off with the Loki episode 2 cliffhanger, as Sylvie arrives at the Time Variance Authority to carry out her plan: kill the Time Keepers. This explains the great distraction it caused in Loki Episode 2, which swept away most of the TVA guards from their base. As Sylvie walks forward, she jumps on a TVA Hunter before realizing her magic isn’t working here. It then evaporates or knocks them out with their own weapons. Loki, who followed Sylvie through the Time Gate in Loki episode 2, also arrives at TVA. He grabs his knives in the next locker then confronts Sylvie. Their knife fight is interrupted by Ravonna Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) before Loki saves them by teleporting.
Sylvie is annoyed and immediately tries to back away using the TemPad but finds that he’s running out of juice. She can no longer use it until it is recharged. Loki pulls it out of his hands and hides it using his magic, only for Sylvie to point out to him that he needs her to know how to recharge it.

Meanwhile, they’re stuck on this purple new moon, which Loki Episode 3 is revealed to be Lamentis-1 in 2077. A nearby planet is about to crash into it and will kill all life on Lamentis-1. This makes sense, as all the places Sylvie frequented were apocalypses, allowing her to hide from the TVA. Sylvie wants to kill Loki for having blocked them, but he calms her down and proposes a truce.

As they head to a nearby mining town on Lamentis-1, Loki wonders why she doesn’t like being called Loki or Variant. Loki is no longer a name she identifies with – that means it’s her first name anyway – and has since adopted the pseudonym “Sylvie,” a name that has ties to Loki mythology in the comics. Marvel. But Sylvie was never a variant of Loki in the comics. She also seems to have a very different background on Loki.

The episode ends with Loki and his variant (who prefers to be called Sylvie) apparently trapped on a doomed world. In 2077, the moon Lamentis-1 is about to be wiped out by a falling planet and the ark they'd planned to hijack and escape on has been destroyed. So they're doomed?

Their original plan was to recharge the TVA TemPad and jump to a different point in time, but that was broken when Loki was thrown off the train. Or was it? Given his penchant for trickery, it's possible the device is still functioning or fixable.
